Position Summary
The Building Material Handler is responsible for safely loading, unloading, handling, storing, and delivering building materials in a fast-paced yard, warehouse, and outdoor environment. This position requires frequent physical labor, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work as part of a team to ensure customers receive accurate and timely service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Load and unload building materials from trucks, trailers, and customer vehicles.
Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Inspect deliveries for damage and accuracy.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training/certification provided as required).
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Keep yard, warehouse, and outdoor work areas clean and orderly.
Work with supervisors and team members to complete daily operational tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to frequently lift, carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds without assistance, and push and pull material carts up to 600 pounds
Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and performing repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
Must be able to work safely from ladders, elevated platforms, rooftops, and other elevated work areas.
Must not be afraid of heights and must be comfortable working at elevated locations when job duties require.
Must have sufficient vision and hearing to operate equipment safely and maintain awareness of surroundings.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and snow.
Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and moving equipment is common.
Requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to safely lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
