Responsibilities:
Our Material Handling group is seeking a full-time Parts Specialist for our Sterling Heights, MI branch. This position is first shift, M - F. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
Selling of partsPull, package and deliver partsAssists customers and/or technicians with locating and providing the correct part(s)Ensure all paperwork related to deliveries are complete and correctPick up items from vendors or transfer items between Alta facilitiesCheck in, unpack and put away partsPick, package and process parts for deliveries via shipping vendorsCheck order accuracy before each deliveryMaintain department order and cleanlinessAssist in physical inventory countsIncorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedConsistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time
Qualifications:
A minimum of one year of previous auto or truck parts counter experience is preferredPrevious warehouse experienceHigh school diploma/GEDHigh level of accuracyAbility to interface with customers in a professional and courteous mannerComputer programs- Epicor/Silk systems, shipping software such as UPS Worldwide and FedExLanguage Skills- Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills- Basic: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Reasoning Ability- Basic: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
