Description

Position Overview:We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Consultant to join our dynamic watersports and boating team.The Tier 2 Parts Advisor is an experienced role with more responsibility for technical knowledge, customer service, and parts sales. This advisor acts as a more knowledgeable resource, guiding customers through complex parts inquiries and assisting with inventory management. They will take on a greater role in order processing, upselling parts, and collaborating with service advisors and technicians to ensure a seamless parts supply chain. The ideal candidate has strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for boating and watersports.Duties and Responsibilities:Customer Service & Technical Support:Provide expert advice to customers on parts compatibility, technical specifications, and alternative options.Manage complex or special orders, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely delivery.Upsell and recommend parts, accessories, or service packages based on customer needs and repair requirements.Build and maintain relationships with regular customers, providing personalized service and follow-up on their orders.Inventory Management & Ordering:Assist with inventory control, ensuring accurate stock levels and fast-moving parts are consistently available.Work with the Parts Manager to reorder parts, handle returns, and manage stock discrepancies.Conduct inventory audits and assist with stocking new parts, ensuring proper documentation and storage.Manage special orders, ensuring they are processed and delivered promptly.Collaboration & Sales Support:Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to identify parts needs for ongoing repairs and future maintenance.Assist with the training of Tier 1 Parts Advisors, providing guidance on parts selection, system navigation, and customer service techniques.Handle more complex customer queries, such as product warranties or availability of discontinued parts.Reporting & Process Improvement:Monitor parts sales and provide insights for improvement in stock management, customer satisfaction, and sales performance.Prepare regular reports on parts sales and order fulfillment to assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.Suggest process improvements within the department to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer service levels.Qualifications:Previous experience in a marine, powersports, automotive, or dealership parts department preferredStrong knowledge of boats, motors, and watersports equipment a plusFamiliarity with parts catalogs, lookup systems, and inventory softwareExcellent customer service and communication skillsDetail-oriented and highly organizedAble to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or marine-related certification a plus Additional Information:Salary plus commission Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, One weekend day every 6 weeks with the following Monday offFull BenefitsFantastic work environmentAppreciated employees
