Job Summary
Outside sales position, salary exempt, direct hire, reporting to the Aftermarket Sales Manager. Responsible for growing parts and service sales across an assigned territory of contractors, utilities, corporations, commercial, and industrial accounts. Maintains accurate marketing data in a CRM system and works to achieve sales and profit goals through product support offerings while identifying new revenue opportunities and growing existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains customer relationships
- Markets and sells the value of parts and service
- Finds new markets, customers, and applications within the territory
- Develops strong knowledge of competitive products and suppliers
- Provides input on annual forecasts for territory potential
- Resolves customer issues
- Works with Parts and Service Managers on goals and marketing ideas
- Provides customers with information to manage equipment at the lowest cost per hour
- Keeps accurate customer records
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 - 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in construction machinery, heavy equipment, or automotive
- Strong organizational, influence, and negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, listening, and presentation
- Strong customer service and prospecting skills with a creative, consultative sales approach
- Strong leadership skills: decision making, creative thinking, goal setting
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Good driving record
- Basic knowledge of engine, hydraulic, and electric systems, and fleet maintenance
- Team player with a strong customer service focus
- Able to multi-task and work quickly and accurately
- Able to build business relationships with customers and company employees
- Four year degree in Business or Marketing preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with basic ability to operate industry specific PC programs
