Partner – Trusts & Estates Litigation Attorney

Overview
A premier Long Island law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Litigation Partner to join its nationally recognized Trusts, Estates and Fiduciary Litigation practice. Responsibilities
Independently manage a sophisticated Trusts & Estates litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
Take and defend depositions and represent clients in court proceedings and hearings.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and other legal submissions.
Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
Handle matters involving Surrogate’s Court and fiduciary litigation.
Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and paralegals.
Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Requirements
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Admission to the New York State Bar.
10+ years of sophisticated Trusts & Estates litigation experience, including substantial Surrogate’s Court experience.
Experience with estate administration, including estate tax matters, is a plus.
Trial experience preferred.
Prior supervisory and team-management experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time-management, organizational, analytical, and client-management abilities.
High level of professionalism, initiative, and work ethic.
Established book of business required.
