Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, guidance, and support to youth in accordance with program expectations and safety procedures.
- Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, respect, and consistency.
- Support daily routines, activities, and transitions while encouraging appropriate behavior and personal responsibility.
- Monitor the environment to help maintain safety, structure, and order.
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations, using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques when needed.
- Document observations, incidents, and daily reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other professionals to support individualized care plans and program goals.
- Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-skills activities.
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in a care, support, education, or community setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in dynamic situations.
- Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, and a commitment to youth-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
- Willingness to complete required training and meet any applicable background screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in residential care, behavioral health, child welfare, or a related field.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
- First aid or CPR certification, if required by the employer.
