Position Overview

As the first point of contact for our clients, our Care Coordinators play a vital role in creating a compassionate and professional experience for both pet owners and their beloved animals. You'll work closely with our medical staff to ensure seamless communication, comfort, and support-especially during stressful or emergency situations. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

This position involves a variety of administrative and client-facing responsibilities, helping keep our hospital running smoothly while maintaining the highest level of service and care.

Note: Emergency Care Coordinator shifts primarily include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
• Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
• Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
• Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Who We're Looking For

An ideal candidate will have:

• 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service, reception, or administrative work required
• A positive, can-do attitude and a passion for providing an exceptional client experience
• Strong emotional intelligence and professionalism under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine love for pets and their families
• The ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel as needed, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

Schedule

• Part-Time (less than 30 hours per week)
• 2 openings for Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 5pm
• 1 opening for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5pm to 2am

Pay Range

$16.20-$19.80 USD
