Position Overview
The Part-Time Student Success Coach serves as a mentor to the students participating in the program. The position provides individualized case management and educational plans for participants. The Student Success Coach meets with students on a regular basis and facilitates activities for the program. This is a temporary grant funded position through September 30, 2028 contingent upon grantor funding and grant extensions. This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.
What you will be doing
- Recruits students to participate in the program
- Presents and promotes projects to organizations
- Serves as a mentor to program participants
- Meets with participants in sessions designed to increase motivation, achievement and academic success
- Identifies resources for participants
- Assists in the planning and execution of program activities
- Assists participants with admissions, enrollment, educational and financial information
- Verifies participant eligibility
- Processes participants forms and documents, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and two years of college (60 credits) from a regionally accredited institution in a related area and one (1) year of related experience
- All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
- Knowledge and proficiency in computers, especially Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and take initiative and responsibility for scheduling individual sessions with program participants
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and with attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
- Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
