    Senior Staff Accountant

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Part TimeSenior Staff Accountant to join our collaborative finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with the flexibility of working in a dynamic, evolving environment. You'll play a key role in month-end close activities, fixed asset accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting while partnering closely with a team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.


    What You'll Do as a Part time Senior Staff


    Fixed Asset Accounting (Approximately 20%)



    • Reconcile construction-in-progress and work-in-progress accounts.

    • Capitalize new assets and maintain fixed asset records.

    • Run and review monthly depreciation calculations.

    • Record and maintain fixed asset activity within the ERP system.

    • Ensure accuracy and compliance of asset schedules and related reporting.


    Month-End Close & Eliminations (Approximately 35%)



    • Prepare and post month-end elimination entries.

    • Support timely and accurate monthly close processes.

    • Reconcile deferred revenue and deferred expense accounts.

    • Follow close procedures and maintain supporting documentation.


    Reconciliations & Prepaid Accounts (Approximately 20%)



    • Reconcile prepaid sales commissions and prepaid tour expenses.

    • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.

    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.


    Financial Maintenance & Special Projects (Approximately 15%)



    • Maintain recurring schedules and balance sheet reconciliations.

    • Assist with accounting projects and process improvements.

    • Support evolving departmental needs and cross-functional initiatives.


    What We're Looking For


    Required Qualifications



    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • Experience supporting month-end close processes.

    • Hands-on experience with fixed asset capitalization and depreciation accounting.

    • Experience reconciling deferred revenue and deferred expense accounts.

    • Strong Excel skills for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.

    • Experience working within an ERP system.

    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fluctuating workloads throughout the month.

    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


    Preferred Qualifications



    • CPA designation or CPA candidate.

    • Experience working within a nonprofit organization.

    • Experience navigating organizational change and process transitions.
