Responsibilities

Supports research and innovation activities through the development and maintenance of customized software tools for ultrasound imaging applications. Assists with ultrasound image visualization, processing, analysis, data management, and research workflows. Works under supervision and collaborates with researchers, imaging scientists, clinicians, and technical staff to translate project needs into practical software solutions. Attention to detail, accuracy, adaptability, and effective communication are essential.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops, tests, maintains, and documents software supporting ultrasound imaging and research workflows.

  • Assists with image visualization, processing, analysis, data organization, and management.

  • Develops user-facing tools and interfaces for interacting with imaging data.

  • Integrates imaging data, metadata, databases, and related software systems as needed.

  • Works with research and clinical team members to understand requirements and develop software solutions.

  • Performs software testing, debugging, version control, and documentation according to established procedures and best practices.

  • Learns and applies relevant ultrasound, medical imaging, and research concepts as required by assigned projects.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED. Coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred. Programming experience with Python, Java, C/C++, or similar languages and knowledge of fundamental software-development concepts. Must demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; and the ability to learn new technologies and work collaboratively.

Experience or coursework in scientific computing, image processing, computer vision, graphical user interfaces, databases, web technologies, or medical imaging is preferred but not required. Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Git, NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, SQL, or DICOM is beneficial.
