    Description

    The Visit Phoenix Registration Team supports the Destination Services Department and plays an important role in delivering exceptional customer service to convention attendees, meeting planners, and clients. In support of Visit Phoenix's mission to promote Greater Phoenix as a premier meeting and convention destination, Convention Registrars assist with registration operations and contribute to the successful execution of meetings, conventions, and special events. Convention Registrars assist delegates at the Phoenix Convention Center (PCC) and other hospitality venues, including hotels and resorts throughout the Greater Phoenix area.
     
    Registration Team Members serve as representatives of Visit Phoenix and ambassadors for the City of Phoenix. This position requires professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to collaborate effectively with fellow team members, clients, and event partners to ensure a positive experience for all visitors and event participants.
     
    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Provide exceptional customer service to convention attendees, meeting planners, exhibitors, and hospitality partners.
    • Assist convention delegates at registration and check-in locations, resolving registration issues and answering questions as needed.
    • Perform accurate data entry and maintain attendee records.
    • Process cash, credit card, and other payment transactions in accordance with established procedures.
    • Prepare, assemble, and distribute registration materials, information packets, tickets, and event-related documents.
    • Monitor meeting rooms, registration areas, and event spaces to ensure smooth operations and assist attendees as needed.
    • Create and print convention delegate name badges and credentials.
    • Provide information regarding event schedules, venues, transportation, and the Greater Phoenix area.
    • Assist with event setup, breakdown, and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Requirements for the position of Convention Registrar include, but are not limited to:
    • Commitment to outstanding customer service and the Visit Phoenix mission and values.
    • Ability to work a flexible, part-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution oriented in fast paced or high volume event environments.
    • Professional appearance, demeanor, and communication skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of attendees, clients, and team members.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet navigation, and data entry. Minimum typing speed of 15 words per minute.
    • Basic cashiering and cash-handling skills preferred.
    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including up to four (4) consecutive hours.
    • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
    • Reliable transportation to event locations throughout the Greater Phoenix area.
