Job description:
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented individual to join our client's healthcare practice in an immediate temp-to-hire Patient Service Specialist opportunity in the heart of downtown Portland.

Position Details:
- Part-Time (28 hours per week) - Mondays required, other days flexible depending on candidate's ideal schedule
- Hybrid schedule offered after training is completed (approx. 5-6 months after starting)
- $19.75 - $23.87 per hour compensation range
Essential Duties:
- Answer and triage phone calls, messages, and appointment inquiries
- Completing work queues within EPIC EMR – referral processing, insurance authorizations, managing missed calls from patients, etc.
- Completing in-baskets for the practice within EPIC – Responding to messages/requests from patients, providers, nurses/MAs, and other departments
- Work collaboratively with providers, nurses, and care teams to maintain efficient clinic operations
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to the network's policies and procedures
Experience:
- Prior administrative healthcare experience is required
- Prior experience in office administration and customer service is required
- Professional and compassionate attitude to assist patients of the practice
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems is required
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities
