Part-Time Patient Care Technician - Neurosurgery (UPMC Presbyterian/6D

Nursing Support roles require working rotating shifts, including daytime, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts. Nursing Assistants and Patient Care Technicians will also be expected to work 12-hour shifts, with the possibility of a mix of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts. These roles require a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
About the Unit:
6D Neurosurgery is an 18-bed neurosurgical unit specializing in the care of patients recovering from spinal surgeries and craniotomies as well as accepting overflow stroke population. We foster a positive and supportive environment, emphasizing strong teamwork and the sharing of knowledge among all disciplines to ensure the best possible outcomes. All hired candidates are required to complete a mandatory training course, with full attendance expected for the entire duration.

Job title and salary will be based upon qualifications and career ladder requirements. The entry level hourly rate is $19.40.
High school diploma or GED required.
For the Senior title posted, the candidate must also have either:
a 2 years of general healthcare experience and meet requirements of Patient Care Technician title, OR
b 1 year of experience (defined above and enrollment in PT/OT/PA program with completion of at least one clinical rotation, or
c 1 year of experience (defined above and completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field.
Annual completion of a professional contribution to be determined after hire
Successful completion of patient care technician senior class and
eRecord training.
