The South Amboy School District has the following anticipated opening for the 2026-2027 school year. Rate of pay will be as per negotiated agreement between the South Amboy Board of Education & the South Amboy Education Association:

DISTRICT

PART-TIME PARAPROFESSIONAL

Up-to 29 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS:

  • County Substitute License

OR

  • Applicants without any of the above credentials must have at least

60 college credits in order to apply for a County Substitute License

OR

Paraprofessional Pro Test Preferred

OR

30 college credits. Applicants must be enrolled in college or university at the time of application. Verification of enrollment is required. Applicants must be at least 20 years of age.

  • Salary Starting at $22.60/ per hour
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Fingerprinting is required for criminal history background clearance

  • Assist the classroom teacher with implementing the daily program.
  • Assist the classroom teacher with clerical work, recordkeeping, preparation of instructional materials, and other non-instructional tasks as assigned.
  • Assist the classroom teacher with supervision of students and implementation of class wide and individual behavior management plans.
  • Work with students individually and in small groups to assist with the learning of content and skills introduced by the teacher.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderly arrangement of materials and equipment within the classroom.
  • Assist children with preparing for and moving to other classrooms, school activities, or to dismissal or arrival.
