Part-Time Nanny / Household Assistant

Location: Darien, CT 
Compensation: $30–$35/hour
Commitment Level: Part-time, long-term
Guaranteed Hours: 25 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:15 PM – 7:15 PM
Start Date: Early September

Position Overview

A Darien family of three young boys — ages 4, 2.5, and 1 — is seeking a part-time Household Assistant/Nanny to support household operations and childcare during afternoon and early evening hours. This role works alongside a full-time afternoon nanny and combines household administration, dinner support, and laundry with hands-on care for one child at a time. The family's home is a five-bedroom property with a fenced-in backyard, and they place a high value on outdoor play. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, comfortable with young children, and communicates well within a team-staffed household.

Responsibilities

• Household administration and organizational support
• Dinner preparation and kitchen support, including cleanup
• Family laundry, folding, and putting away
• General household tidying and upkeep
• Provide one-on-one care for a single child while the nanny is with the other two
• Support age-appropriate play and routines, including outdoor time in the fenced backyard
• Assist with children's mealtime and evening routines
• Coordinate with the afternoon nanny and household team on daily priorities

Requirements

• Professional experience combining household support with childcare, or comparable background
• Confident caring for one young child at a time, including infants and toddlers
• Highly organized with strong follow-through
• Punctual and reliable
• Strong, proactive communication skills
• Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
