Part Time Machinist $25-27/h

Requirements: Work experience: Experience setting up and operating machine shop equipment, especially manual lathes and mills. Technical skills: Ability to interpret blueprints, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

Summary:

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision components.
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications to meet required dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools and maintain accurate quality records.
• Work on-site at a Columbus manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate lathes, mills, grinders, drills, saws, and other machine shop equipment.
• Read blueprints, select tooling, and perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding.
• Measure and inspect parts, document results, and make adjustments to meet specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, follow safety procedures, and keep the work area organized. 

Requirements:

• Work experience: Experience setting up and operating machine shop equipment, especially manual lathes and mills.
• Technical skills: Ability to interpret blueprints, calculate dimensions and tolerances, and use micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.
• Education: Technical or vocational machining training is preferred; equivalent hands-on experience is welcome.
• Additional qualifications: CNC experience, programming or editing, and CAD/CAM familiarity are preferred. Must be able to work safely and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
