Job Summary:
Otero College seeks a student centered instructor who is passionate about teaching, learning, and student success. As a comprehensive community college, instructors play a vital role in advancing the college's mission by providing high-quality instruction, fostering meaningful student engagement, and preparing learners for academic achievement, workforce readiness, and lifelong growth.
Instructors are responsible for delivering effective instruction, maintaining academic excellence, supporting student retention and completion through mentoring, and contributing to ongoing program and curriculum development.

Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty and instructors must meet one of the following three minimum criteria:
a) A bachelor's degree with the intent to complete a master's degree within three years. Progress towards the degree should be measurable and reported annually.
b) Applicable experience in the discipline (employment etc.) equivalent to 2or more years beyond bachelor's level, depending on level of course, which includes a breadth and depth of experience outside of the classroom in real-world situations relevant to the discipline in which the faculty member or instructor would be teaching.
c) Two or more of the following:
i. A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9-15 graduate credit hours completed in the course discipline, content area, or prefix.
ii. Teaching experience at the college level in the course discipline, content area, or prefix, and documentation of related professional development (e.g., publications, presentations, mentorship, etc.).
iii. Discipline-specific certifications or credentials at a post-secondary level, or specialized advanced experience relevant to the course discipline, content area, or prefix. Evidence of specialized credentials may include significant invited performances (e.g., galley shows, guest conductor, director, or performer experiences).
(Documentation must include two of the above statements and related evidence.)
