Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher
Location: The Learning Experience - Byron Center, MI
Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Part-Time, 3 days per week
Classroom: Infant A
The Learning Experience - Byron Center is seeking a nurturing and dependable Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our Infant A classroom three days per week.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with babies and wants a consistent part-time schedule. You'll work alongside our classroom teachers to provide responsive care, support important developmental milestones, and create a warm environment where our youngest learners feel safe, secure, and loved.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily routines and learning experiences in the Infant A classroom
- Assist with feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time, and individualized care routines
- Engage infants through sensory play, music, movement, language, and age-appropriate activities
- Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development
- Provide attentive supervision and responsive care
- Help maintain each infant's individual schedule and routine
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families
- Collaborate with Lead Teachers and center leadership
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing classroom
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous childcare, daycare, or experience working with infants preferred
- Professional infant classroom experience is a plus
- Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable with feeding, diapering, and other infant care routines
- Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements
