Trellis Services is hiring one-on-one instructors to work with children and adolescents (ages 10 to 21) with autism in their homes and in the community on non academic life skill goals. This part-time position (8 to 30 hours per week-afternoons, evenings and weekends) is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in the life of a child! Flexible hours and great pay ($19/hr)! As a Trellis autism instructor, you will work under the supervision of one of our experienced Case Managers and gain experience using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

What You Have

• At least 18 years old on your first day of employment
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable transportation
• Minimum 100 hours working/volunteer/personal experience with individuals with developmental delays

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide one-on-one support with community independence, daily living and recreation/leisure
• Flexible schedules; afternoon, evening and weekend shifts
• Opportunities available throughout Maryland including Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Talbot counties
• Ability to advance into other roles at Trellis
• Great foundation for a career in special education and related fields
• Above minimum wage starting pay rate

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk, run, stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, reach, balance, and move quickly as needed. Must push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs., maintain client safety awareness, respond quickly to changes, and safely manage client movement per ABA guidelines. Requires stamina, sustained concentration, effective communication, and ability to work in loud, high-stimulation environments. Must assist with hygiene and toileting as needed.
