Gynecological Sonographer - Part Time
Job Summary: The Gynecological Sonographer performs ultrasound services and procedures to include setting up ultrasound machine and preparing for diagnostic test timely. They must be familiar with approved clinical protocols for each type of ultrasound examination he or she performs.
(This is a Part-Time position that will support our GYN team at Billingsley Tuesday, Thursday, & Fridays 7:30 am to 5 pm)
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Check for patient arrival in Athena and check patient orders
Performs ultrasound diagnostic procedures as requested by the physician
Produces a variety of procedures that require independent judgment and initiative to create images for ultrasound diagnosis
Document tests results and maintains hard copy images
Inspects equipment daily and documents needed repairs
View patient chart for previous studies and pertinent information
Complete reports
Input appropriate charges ensuring medical necessity
Inform nurse or provider of completion of exams
Ensure physician needs are met to increase resource utilization and protocols/standards are up to date for accreditation
Notify ordering physician of abnormal exams
Assist in ordering supplies
Requirements:
Education and Certifications:
Minimum of an Associate degree.
ARDMS certification.
Maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
Completion of TB test will be required.
Two years Gynecological experience.
Physical Requirements:
Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
