Description
Part-Time Events Assistant, Civic Center assists with a variety of patron and artist experiences including shuttle services, wayfinding, and assistive ushering; event set-up/breakdown; and artist hospitality services.

Qualifications and Working Conditions
Knowledge of:
Safe operation of motor vehicles and/or passenger golf carts.
Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
Basic mathematical calculations
Basic principles and procedures of record keeping.
Occupational hazards and applicable safety precautions.
Current trends, research and development in the area of assignment.
Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
Basic knowledge of arithmetic, spelling, English and grammar.
Ability to:
Interpret and apply Federal, State and local policies, laws and regulations.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Interpret, explain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures.
Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Civic Center and the College.

Environmental Conditions:
The employee should have the ability to effectively handle a work environment and conditions which involves an outdoor environment as well as an indoor office or theatre environment; working with machinery/technology; and exposure to dust and dirt.
The employee must preserve environments by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards to provide a safe work environment
Physical Conditions:
Physical and marginal functions require the ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following; standing, walking or sitting for extended periods, moderate lifting and carrying, general manual dexterity, operating assigned equipment, and extended exposure to computer screens.
The employee is required to maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for making observations, reading and writing, operating assigned equipment, communicating with others, and handling varied tasks simultaneously.
Additionally, the employee must maintain mental capacity, which permits making sound decisions and using good judgment, and demonstrating intellectual capabilities.
Scheduling Conditions:
This is a part-time position with availability of hours and scheduling dependent upon the needs of the Civic Center. Flexible scheduling (including nights, weekends, special events and holidays) is required. Attendance at any CCC&TI site, or arranged off-campus site, may be requested, as needed.
Traveling Conditions:
Local travel between the Caldwell campus, Watauga campus, or any off-campus sites may be needed. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for training and conferences.
Experience and Training
Training:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree is preferred.
Current drivers license sufficient to operate a 15-passenger is required. Defensive driver training, or the ability to obtain certification within six months is strongly preferred.
Experience:
Proficiency in MS Office, Google, and retail sales is required.
Accident free motor vehicle record for the past three years is required.
