SUNY Niagara is seeking qualified and committed adjunct instructors to join the Business & STEM Division. This role supports the college's mission to provide high-quality, applied education that prepares students for careers in electronics, engineering technology, and related technical fields.

The Instructor will be responsible for teaching and program support including but not limited to instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities (upon completion of required training), student advisement, assessment of student learning outcomes and completion of required administrative and reporting duties.

The Assistant Professor will teach and develop courses within our community college Electronics Technology program, including Principles of Electricity I and II, Digital Systems I and II, Advanced Digital Systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems, and PLC Programming. All courses are delivered on SUNY Niagara's main campus in Sanborn, New York.

In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Typical Work Activities

Instruction

• Provide instruction aligned with course outcomes and program objectives
• Ensure appropriate academic rigor in instructional and assessment practices.
• Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi and assessments
• Foster a classroom environment consistent with the mission and values of SUNY Niagara

Administrative Duties

• Complete required documentation and reporting in a timely manner
• Submit required reports including attendance, census data, learning outcome assessments, and final grades

Essential Functions

Must be able to communicate effectively with students, co-workers, supervisors, and the community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must be technologically adept. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position and must adjust any teaching to the Americans with Disabilities Act provisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical/electronics engineering technology, or a closely related field
• Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on industry experience in electrical, controls, instrumentation, or automation
• Ability to safely supervise a hands-on lab, including use of standard test equipment and knowledge of electrical safety practices

Desirable Qualifications

• A Master's or PhD in a discipline that relates to this position
• Experience programming controllers and interfacing with electronic instrumentation
• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Experience with using online publisher platforms, learning management systems and homework/testing management systems.
