Part-time Early Childhood Special Education Itinerant Teacher

Wareham Public Schools seeks a dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered Early Childhood Special Education Itinerant Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This grant funded, part-time position provides specialized instruction and special education services to children ages 3-5 within Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) preschool settings throughout Wareham, Massachusetts.

The Early Childhood Special Education Itinerant Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction, consultation, and support consistent with each student''s Individualized Education Program (IEP) while working collaboratively with preschool staff, families, related service providers, and District personnel to promote student growth and successful participation in inclusive early childhood settings.

Key Responsibilities: Specialized Instruction & Learning Environment Provide developmentally appropriate, engaging, and differentiated specialized instruction aligned with each student''s IEP goals and individual learning needs. Deliver services within CPPI Partnership preschool settings using inclusive practices that support students'' participation alongside their peers. Adapt instructional strategies, materials, and activities to address students'' developmental, academic, communication, social-emotional, behavioral, and functional needs. Support safe, structured, nurturing, and inclusive early childhood learning environments. Monitor student performance and progress toward IEP goals through ongoing data collection and observation. Use assessment and progress-monitoring data to adjust instruction, interventions, and supports as appropriate. Work collaboratively with families, preschool teachers, instructional assistants, related service providers, coordinators, administrators, and other professionals involved in supporting each student. Provide consultation, modeling, strategies, and resources to CPPI Partnership preschool staff to support implementation of IEP goals within the classroom environment. Maintain consistent communication with families and educational partners regarding student progress, needs, and supports. Promote positive relationships between Wareham Public Schools and community-based preschool partners.
