Part-Time Drug Testing Technician (Male)

Job SummaryThe Drug Testing Technician conducts supervised and observed urine drug screens.
Key Responsibilities
Screening:
Prepares and maintains the drug screen labPerforms breath alcohol-sensor testsUses panel cup substance screening devices for urine samples and interprets resultsMonitors and detects any potential device or substance used to interfere with the drug test during the collection of the sampleSorts, verifies, prepares and packages the collections for daily pick upDisposes of used testing equipment/materials safely
Recordkeeping:
Maintains detailed recordsCompletes necessary documents and court affidavitsReports compliance or noncompliance of Drug Court participants to the Drug Court CoordinatorFiles and shreds documents
Other Duties:
Helps maintain and inventories drug screen suppliesTestifies in court regarding client violations and/or observed drug screens, if necessaryAttends trainingPerforms all work duties and activities in accordance with county and court policies, procedures, and safety practicesOther duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities:
Apply evidence collection and preservation techniquesPersonal computers and word processingKnowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuationProviding proper telephone and office etiquetteMaintain strict confidentiality of all department records and informationSet boundaries with clientsSkilled in communicating with culturally diverse and manipulative populations
Special Qualifications
Successfully complete a background investigation
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
