Summary:
This part-time Communications & Social Media Specialist position offers $25/hour and is located in Hyde Park, MA with a mission-driven public charter school. The role is expected to run through December/January with potential for permanent hire and requires 20-25 hours per week, typically Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM with occasional flexibility for evening school events. This opportunity is ideal for a creative communicator who enjoys content creation, storytelling, social media management, and engaging with a school community.

Responsibilities:

• Gather stories and content from classrooms, staff, students, and school events
• Create and draft social media content and digital communications
• Capture photos and videos throughout the school community
• Attend and document school events and activities
• Set up recording equipment, including tripods, for presentations and events
• Edit photo and video content for digital platforms
• Maintain a consistent and engaging social media presence
• Collaborate with school leadership and communications staff on messaging
• Submit content for approval prior to publication
• Support social media efforts across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Facebook

Qualifications:

• Experience managing social media accounts or creating digital content
• Strong writing, communication, and storytelling skills
• Ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences
• Comfortable interacting with students, faculty, staff, and community members
• Self-motivated, creative, and proactive
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Experience capturing, editing, and posting photos and videos
• Familiarity with Canva, Final Cut Pro, Rise Vision, or similar content creation tools preferred
• Approximately 1+ year of relevant experience preferred, though strong entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
