The School District of Fort Atkinson is seeking an organized, collaborative, and customer-focused professional to serve as the Auditorium Manager - Administrative at Fort Atkinson High School.
This position plays a key role in the successful operation of the Performing Arts Center (PAC) by coordinating event scheduling, managing student workers, overseeing administrative and financial processes, and serving as the primary liaison between school staff, community groups, and event organizers. Working closely with the Auditorium Manager - Technical, this position helps ensure every event is safe, organized, and professionally executed.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate scheduling and reservations for the Performing Arts Center.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for school and community users, communicating facility capabilities and event requirements.
- Schedule and facilitate pre-production meetings to ensure staffing, technical, and event needs are identified and coordinated.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers while providing a positive learning environment.
- Coordinate front-of-house staffing, including ushers, ticketing, and house management for events.
- Process student payroll, approve timesheets, and assist with event-related financial tracking and rental charges.
- Maintain event calendars, records, and documentation using district technology systems.
- Collaborate with district maintenance, administration, and the Auditorium Manager - Technical to support facility maintenance, improvements, and long-term planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and provide training for users of auditorium equipment.
- Develop and maintain training materials, operating procedures, and documentation to support efficient auditorium operations.
- Assist with grant opportunities and initiatives that enhance programming and facility improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to coordinate multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and community members.
- Experience coordinating events, scheduling, or managing projects is preferred.
- Experience supervising or mentoring students or staff is desirable.
- Basic understanding of theatrical production, stage management, or event operations, or a willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn lighting, sound, video, and ticketing systems.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Work Schedule
- Average of 26 hours per week with a flexible work schedule.
- Evening and weekend hours are required to support performances and special events as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on ladders, in confined spaces, and at heights of up to 30 feet when necessary.
