The Part-Time Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies works closely with senior faculty to ensure the program meets and exceeds the accreditation standards set forth by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA); prepares physician assistant students to be leaders in the profession, proficient in meeting the challenges of healthcare, and provide compassionate, quality care to the diverse communities in which they serve; provides the opportunity to be involved in both the didactic and clinical phases of the program and can be adjusted to the applicant's interest and area of expertise; and participates in ongoing program assessment and evaluation, student advising, and departmental committee work. Responsibilities include working with the director of didactic education in the development and implementation of curriculum; providing instruction during the didactic year within areas of expertise and training; developing, implementing, and assessing academic performance evaluations within the didactic phase; participating in academic advising of students; as well as participating in ongoing evaluation and self-evaluation to demonstrate effectiveness in areas of teaching, scholarship, and service.
