Join the UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing as a Clinical Instructor!
UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing is seeking a casual Instructor to join our expanding team. We welcome candidates with an BSN, enrollment in a MSN program with a 3-year completion plan, and 3 years of clinical experience. Final job title will reflect your education, experience, and manager discretion.
The individual hired into this role provide clinical instruction to both the part-time and full-time SHY SON programs; the instructor will be required to teach evenings and every other weekend throughout the academic year.

The mission of UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing is to prepare entry-level graduate nurses for practice within an interprofessional healthcare team. The school is part of UPMC Shadyside, which is part of the UPMC health system. The focus of our program is mastery of high-level competencies reflecting the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for the delivery of safe, quality nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
UPMC-approved certification, preferred.
CPR Certification for BLS for Health Care Providers.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
