    Description

    St. John Regional Catholic School is seeking energetic, compassionate, and creative Aftercare Assistants. Our assistants engage children in play-based learning experiences through movement, music, hands-on activities, and imaginative play. Extended Care staff are responsible for providing care and supervision to children after the school day ends. Their primary responsibility is ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive development of the children in their care.

    Essential Functions:

    • Understands, supports, and implements the school's philosophy.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with state licensing rules and regulations.
    • Communicates clearly and empathetically with students, parents, and coworkers.
    • Enthusiastically and warmly greets and engages children.
    • Demonstrates strong organizational skills in the classroom.
    • Maintains confidentiality regarding students, their families, and other employees.
    • Ensures the safety and active supervision of students at all times.
    • Works collaboratively with teachers, staff, and school administration.
    • Is comfortable working in a faith-based environment.
    • Is comfortable receiving and following directions from teachers, directors, administrative staff, and team leaders.
    • Works cooperatively and collaboratively with staff members.
    • Assists with student accountability, attendance tracking, behavior coaching, instruction, supervision, snack preparation and distribution, opening lunches, and other related duties.
    • Is able to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.

    Position Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a high school diploma and a 90-hour Child Care Certification.
    • Experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.
    • Appreciation for young students and their families.
    • Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Faith and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic Schools.
    • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
    • Prior to hire, must complete a medical examination, EpiPen training, and any additional training required by school licensing regulations.

    Pay Range:  $15.00, Hourly
