    About IBRC

    The Indiana Business Research Center (IBRC) provides and interprets economic and demographic information needed by Indiana businesses, governments, and nonprofit organizations. The center has offices and staff located in Bloomington and Indianapolis.

    Job Summary

    • Performs a variety of administrative duties for the Indiana Business Research Center that support daily operations.
    • Responsible for creating Word or Excel files, bookkeeping, supporting operations as it relates to account activities, answering correspondence, filing, and processing departmental purchases, reimbursements, and travel using IU systems.
    • Provides administrative assistance with research and publication materials.
    • Coordinates planning and is accountable to see through completion of various department initiatives and events that engage internal and external teams.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION

    Required

    • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).

    Preferred

    • Some college.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Required

    • 3 years of office experience.

    Preferred

    • Payroll Experience

    SKILLS

    Required

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Ability to interact effectively with a wide array of individuals.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and interruptions.
    • Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate as part of a team.
    • Sound judgment and experience handling confidential information.
    • Familiarity with office equipment, basic computer skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
    • Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.
    • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities.

    Preferred

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with Indiana University systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Experience using QuickBooks.
