    Part-time Accounts Payable Assistant, temp-to-hire, Weymouth

    Part-time 20-30 hrs. a week

    About the Role

    Keep our accounting operations running smoothly by providing clerical and data entry support that ensures vendor invoices, payments, and account records are processed accurately and on time. You'll work closely with the Accounting Manager on daily financial transactions and cross-train to support other functions, including Accounts Receivable, as needed.

    What You'll Do

    • Match vendor invoices with purchase orders (POs) and receiving documents to confirm accurate pricing and quantities.
    • Verify the mathematical accuracy of all line items, totals, and calculations on incoming invoices.
    • Spot discrepancies and follow up proactively with internal departments or vendors to resolve missing paperwork.
    • Enter vendor invoices into the Syteline ERP system with speed and precision.
    • Support weekly check runs and process ACH payments on schedule.
    • Match remittance advices to complete voucher packages after payment distribution.
    • Perform operational bank reconciliations and maintain the weekly AP control sheet.
    • Keep files and records physical and digital organized for all accounts payable documentation, vouchers, and checks.

    Secondary Responsibilities

    • Provide backup support to the Accounts Receivable Clerk, including processing Return Authorizations (RAs) and credit card transactions.
    • Take on other accounting and clerical tasks as requested by the Accounting Manager.

    What You'll Bring

    • Knowledge typically associated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting.
    • 3 to 5 years of clerical accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and ERP data entry (Syteline experience is a plus).
    • Strong math skills, sharp attention to detail, and the professional communication needed to resolve vendor disputes.
