Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Two years of experience in the maintenance and/or landscaping of natural areas is required. Must obtain a Pesticide Applicator License during the probationary period. Must possess a valid Florida Drivers License. Proficiency with computers and experience with native and invasive plant species is preferred.
Recruitment Notes
This supervisory role involves approximately 80% fieldwork and 20% office/administrative duties. The successful candidate will lead a team of Natural Areas Attendants, ensuring that work in the natural areas is completed efficiently and to high standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in staff supervision and working with computer applications, particularly Excel. Additional qualifications include experience with chemical herbicides and the ability to recognize exotic and invasive plants. Experience with prescribed burning is also desired. The selected individual will be required to obtain the Pesticide Applicator certification within one year. This position reports to the Natural Areas Management office located at 22200 SW 137 Avenue, Miami, FL 33170. Work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
