This is administrative work involving the enforcement of parking restrictions in public parking lots and other areas of the City. Enforces parking regulations; special assignments including transportation of items during duty hours. Agent wears uniform prescribed by the Chief and furnished by the City.

One (1) position is available

Hours: Part-time, 8 hours per week, Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Starting Hourly Rate: $24.5799

• Patrols assigned areas of the City to enforce parking regulations.
• Issues tickets for applicable violations of City parking regulations.
• Marks tires of vehicles parked in unmetered timed parking zones, records the time and returns at specified intervals to ticket vehicles remaining in spaces illegally.
• Performs routine maintenance on City vehicles and equipment.
• Directs traffic as required for special events.

Graduation from high school or equivalent training and experience which provides the following knowledge, ability, and skills:

Knowledge of:

• City of Waukesha street layout and applicable police department policies and procedures.
• City parking ordinances.
• Basic vehicle maintenance.
• Business English (grammar, punctuation, spelling, format and tone).
• The use of computers and standard office equipment.
• Operational hazards and means of taking precautionary measures to avoid.

Skill in:

• Public Relations.
• Operating a motor vehicle.
• Necessary special requirements.
• Possession of a valid Wisconsin drivers license.
• Ability to pass a criminal and financial background check; must be bondable

• Work is performed mostly outdoors and sometimes in an office setting; hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

• The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
