Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, the incumbent will perform or assist with maintenance and repair tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience* in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;
OR - One year of experience* in any of the following fields:
OR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;
OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;
OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;
OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.
Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Reassignment Qualifications:
Current NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Employees only, with at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as a Park Worker 3.

COMMENTS:
The CSEA contracts allow for salary protection for seasonal / hourly employees who are appointed to permanent graded positions with lower hiring rates under certain circumstances. We encourage OPRHP seasonal / hourly applicants to check in with your Regional Business Office Administrator to inquire about the potential impact on your salary. As a permanent graded employee you will be eligible for regular salary / performance advances (i.e. salary increases)

Location Pay:
The hiring rate will be the sum of the statutory hiring rate for CSEA Grade 9 ($44,560) and the Downstate Adjustment ($4,150). The job rate will be the sum of the statutory job rate ($54,773) and the Downstate Adjustment ($4,150).
