Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space seeks a Park Technician of Programming and Education at Lake Crabtree County Park and Haleys Branch Trails. We''re looking for a Park Technician with proven interest in program delivery, skills in customer service, knowledge of park operations and a passion for parks to join our team. You will have an exciting opportunity to help shape the delivery of programs and activities while working closely with our maintenance team. This is a part-time, regular position working 20 hours per week.
As a frontline staff member with frequently shifting job roles and responsibilities, the ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability and excel at interpersonal communication and public relations. Park staff strive to provide a safe, enjoyable park experiences through programming, visitor services, daily operational tasks, facility maintenance and resource stewardship.

We offer preservation, education and recreation opportunities across our nine parks and three nature preserves (and GROWING!) 361 days a year. Our parks have never been more popular! We serve over 2 million visitors annually and plan to open additional facilities soon. Lake Crabtree County Park is Wake County's first park (opening in 1988). Lake Crabtree's convenient and central location, park amenities, wildlife habitats and public programming make it a top destination for nature lovers and families alike. Haleys Branch is an exciting, new, 400-acre multi-use trail system that is currently in development and will be open to the public in 2028. Our community loves our parks (and so do we!).
