From preparing event spaces and maintaining grounds to keeping facilities clean, safe, and ready for our guests, our Park Operations team is always on the go. As a Park Operations Technician, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping create the clean, safe, and welcoming environment our guests experience every day.About the RolePark Operations Technicians support the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the Zoo, including event setup and breakdown, cleaning, storage organization, equipment maintenance, and general facility support. We're looking for a dependable, team-oriented individual who enjoys staying active, working with their hands, and tackling a variety of tasks throughout the Zoo. If you're someone who can work well with a team while also getting the job done independently, we'd love to have you join our Park Operations team!Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with setup and breakdown for non-catered events and seasonal events, including CATZ, ZooBoo, and Zoobilation.Clean and vacuum event spaces and other areas to maintain cleanliness standards.Organize, stock, and maintain general storage areas and supplies.Operate and maintain small equipment such as power washers, leaf blowers, and leaf vacuums.Assist with general building and equipment maintenance and help keep equipment in good working order.Follow all Zoo sanitation, chemical handling, safety, and sanitation standards.Use a two-way radio and telephone to communicate effectively with team members and respond to operational needs.Follow Universal Precautions and Bloodborne Pathogen Guidelines as required.Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operations of the Zoo.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent required.At least 18 years of age.Valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record that is insurable under the Zoo's insurance requirements.Previous experience operating small equipment such as power washers, leaf blowers, or leaf vacuums is highly desired.A cooperative, team-oriented attitude and the ability to work effectively with others.Ability to work independently with limited supervision and use good judgment in a variety of situations.Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and varying shifts as needed.Comfortable working outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions, including hot, cold, humid, and inclement weather.Ability to frequently move throughout the Zoo while transporting items weighing up to 50 pounds and position items weighing up to 100 pounds for short distances.Ability to navigate ladders, stairs, and uneven terrain while maintaining balance.Why Join Us?Our Park Operations team plays an important role in creating the safe, clean, and welcoming environment our guests experience every day.
