The City of Oakland is currently recruiting to fill multiple temporary, part-time Park Attendant, PT vacancies within the Oakland Public Works Department. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic team player, capable of following oral and written directions to complete assignments, is eager to learn a variety of maintenance tasks, and has an interest in long-term professional development. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a solid work ethic and a strong commitment to maintaining the Citys urban forest.
Under general supervision in the Department of Oakland Public Works, the Park Attendant, PT performs a variety of maintenance duties which involve pruning, planting, weeding, sweeping, clearing drains, loading, and unloading soil and materials, and driving, loading and unloading vehicles.

Minimum Requirements for Application
Any combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the following minimum qualifications may be acceptable.
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the eighth grade; high school diploma or equivalent desirable.
Experience:
None required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Prior experience or training in gardening, landscaping, groundskeeping, or related outdoor work.

This is an at-will position, exempt from the provisions of the City of Oakland Civil Service Rules, per Charter Section 902.

Disaster Service Workers
