Cresthaven
Academy
Charter
School
exists
to
provide
a
comprehensive
education
to
our
scholars
that
develops
the
whole
child

academic

Cresthaven
Academy
Charter
School
opened
in
August
2016
with
75
kindergarten
scholars,
and
adds
a
grade
each
academic
year
until
we
are
a
K-8
school.
All
Cresthaven
Academy
scholars
receive
access
to
the
best
educators
and
resources,
serving
to
actualize
each
child's
potential
and
setting
them
on
the
path
to
college.
Cresthaven
Academy
Charter
School
is
supported
by
Cresthaven
Academy
Foundation,
a
501(c)(3)
non-profit
organization.
The
Foundation
exists
to
support
the
school
and
teaching
staff
in
all
things
outside
of
classroom
instruction,
reducing
the
risk
of
burnout
and
raising
academic
standards
by
allowing
educators
to
focus
on
their
scholars.
Together
we
incorporate
comprehensive
support
for
scholars
and
families
into
the
education
model,
including
an
afterschool
program,
in
order
to
inspire
excellence
in
character,
identity,
and
academics
in
each
child.

Academy
is

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Work
with
teachers,
administrators,
and
parents
to
translate/interpret,
coordinate,
and
advocate
for
family
involvement
to
facilitate
children's
learning
in
specialized
programs.
Confers
and
works
with
school
principals,
teachers,
guidance
and
other
professional
staff,
as
well
as
parents
and
other
concerned
individuals
regarding
problems
affecting
the
students'
progress
and
achievements,
behavior,
personal
well-being
or
other
school-related
problems
they
may
be
experiencing.
Provide
verbal
and
written
translation
of
district
and
school
documents/communication
establish
the
school
community
as
a
place
that
invites
participation
and
partnership
through
the
development
of
a
wide
variety
of
"welcome"
plans
for
parents/families.
Plan
and/or
support
in
the
planning
and
implementation
of
all
parent
events
(ex.
Career
Day,
Read
Across
America,
Kindergarten
Welcome
Picnic,
et
cetera)
Work
as
the
direct
liaison
between
the
school
and
the
PTO,
attending
all
PTO
meetings,
and
PTO
meetings
with
the
Administrators.
Compile
and
collect
basic
information
and
material
to
help
the
school
involve
the
parents
in
the
activities
of
the
children.
Provide
translation
and
interpretation
including
by
not
limited
to:
IEP
meetings
eligibility
meetings,
504
meetings,
special
education
and
English
Learning
programming,
transition
meetings,
evaluations,and
eligibility/IEP
meetings
throughout
the
Early
Intervention
transition
process,
preschool
screenings,
registration,
EL
intake
meetings,
parent
conferences/orientation,
home
visits,
daily
communication
Provide
MLL
community
engagement
programs
for
MLLs,
which
include
parent
education
workshops,
MLL
storytime,
and
other
workshops
aligned
with
the
Bilingual
Parent
Advisory
Committee
initiatives;
Maintain
files
for
all
meeting
agendas,
facilitators,
presenters,
and
meeting
attendance;
e.g.,
parent
sign-in
sheets.
Evaluate
effectiveness
of
program
activities
and
keep
current
with
trends
and
developments
in
the
field.
Arrange
for
the
conducting
of
workshops
at
various
schools
for
parents
of
children
in
order
to
inform
them
of
the
education
program's
provisions,
services,
and
other
functions
offered
within
the
school
system.
Coordinate
community
wide
conferences
with
parents
in
order
to
involve
them
in
their
children's
education.
Conduct
meetings
with
parents
and
interpret
and
explain
the
various
provisions
of
the
education
program
so
that
they
are
able
to
help
their
children
at
home.
Meet
with
parent
groups
and
help
individual
parents
resolve
problems
with
their
children
by
making
referrals
to
appropriate
persons
in
order
to
have
problems
corrected.
Assists
in
the
interpretation
of
school
and
program
policies,
regulations
or
activities
to
the
students
and
their
parents.
Serves
as
liaison
between
the
parents
and
the
school
district
and
with
social
agencies
committed
to
the
welfare
of
the
student.
Develops
rapport
with
students,
their
parents
and
school
officials
in
the
interest
of
promoting
the
proper
adjustment
and
progress
of
the
students.
Any
other
duties
as
assigned
by
the
Chief
School
Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
high
school
diploma
with
office
experience
Good
organizational
skills
Good
typing
skills
and
ability
to
operate
office
equipment
and
computer
literate
High
propensity
for
positive
interpersonal
relations,
especially
with
children
Can
provide
an
enriching
school
community
for
families
Must
have
flexibility
to
work
some
evenings
and
summer
dates
Bilingual
Spanish/English
with
fluent
oral
and
written
communication
This
position
may
require:
Exposure
to
temperature
variations
and
wet
conditions.
Walking
and
working

uneven

slick
