Job Details Parent Coordinator Jefferson Early Childhood Center
Duties and Responsibilities The Parent Coordinator will schedule all preschool screenings, team-based screenings, AGS screenings, EI screenings, classroom-based assessments, speech mini-groups, and conduct reminder calls for all screenings and coordinate with the school nurse to provide vision and hearing screening during the preschool screenings.
The Parent Coordinator will set-up for screening days, prepare paperwork and nametags, and manage the preschool screening process and maintain all spreadsheets and files related to all preschool screenings.
The Parent Coordinator will call all families as directed by the principal with screening results and wait list process, take all calls regarding the status of children on the waiting list, and will contact families to offer placement.
The Parent Coordinator will coordinate all parent-child educational events and take-home packets, obtain all supplies, advertise, set-up, clean-up, and maintain an inventory spreadsheet and family attendance spreadsheet.
The Parent Coordinator will collaborate with the principal to obtain parent input through surveys and parent advisory board meetings and agendas.
The Parent Coordinator will recruit and facilitate parent volunteers so that volunteers are able to assist throughout the school building, pre-k classrooms, school-wide events, parent volunteer help days, library cart reading volunteers, and other class visits.
The Parent Coordinator will collaborate with community resources to obtain items if needed for our neediest families and support families with families.
The Parent Coordinator will collaborate with community partners to schedule supplemental classroom activities to the building-wide curriculum.
The Parent Coordinator will collaborate with community partners to provide community-wide early childhood family events.
The Parent Coordinator will distribute monthly newsletters and update daily announcements on the website.
The Parent Coordinator will conduct any further activities as it pertains to the implementation of the Preschool for All extended day early childhood grant and compliance of such grant, per Preschool for All enrollment guidelines. One home visit per student per school year is to be conducted.
Qualifications The Parent Coordinator must hold a Paraprofessional license and be registered through the ISBE.
Salary and Benefits As assigned on the MESPA guidelines, starting at 18.63 hours.
Personal and Sick days per MESPA contract.
