Paraprofessionals - 5 Part Time Positions for Kindergarten Academic Support

Support kindergarten students in building foundational academic, social, and classroom skills in a welcoming South Plainfield school environment. The paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and student support staff to provide individualized assistance, reinforce instruction, encourage positive behavior, and help young learners participate confidently in daily classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support in early literacy, math, classroom routines, and learning activities.
• Reinforce teacher instruction and help kindergarten students complete assignments and practice foundational skills.
• Support students' social-emotional development, communication, independence, and positive classroom behavior.
• Assist with classroom organization, instructional materials, transitions, and daily student routines.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel while maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Other Requirements:

• Must have at least 60 college credits or have passed the New Jersey Para Professional Test
• Previous experience working in an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist students
• Collaborative team player with teachers and staff.
• Patience and sensitivity to student needs.
• Basic understanding of student assessment and teaching strategies.
