We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Paraprofessional / SPED Teaching Assistant to support students in a special education classroom in Walterboro, SC. This is a full-time leave coverage assignment supporting students from Pre-K through Kindergarten.
The classroom is staffed with 1 Special Education Teacher and 3 Teaching Assistants supporting 11 students, providing a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:- Assist the SPED teacher with daily classroom activities and instruction.
- Provide individualized support to students based on their educational and behavioral needs.
- Assist with classroom management and student supervision.
- Support students with academic, social, and developmental activities.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
- Follow student-specific educational and behavioral plans as directed.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other support staff.
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school or special education setting.
- Ability to work effectively with young students with varying needs.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
