Overview:The Savannah R-III School District is seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our educational team as a Paraprofessional-CNA. In this role, you will support a student with significant medical needs throughout the school day while working closely with the school nurse, classroom teacher, and other staff to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide individualized support to a student with significant medical needs throughout the school day.Assist with personal care, mobility, feeding, and other daily needs.Provide health-related care within the employee's training and certification and in accordance with appropriate medical orders and district procedures.Assist classroom and special education teachers in delivering instructional activities and supporting the student's participation in the educational environment.Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.Collaborate with the school nurse, teachers, and other staff regarding the student's needs and progress.Qualifications:Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.Completion of one of the following: at least 60 college credit hours, successful completion of the Paraprofessional Assessment, or possession of a valid Missouri substitute teaching certificate.Experience working with children and/or individuals with significant medical or special needs is preferred.Ability to perform physical tasks associated with student assistance, including lifting, toileting, feeding, and mobility support.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Dependable, attentive, and comfortable providing one-on-one support to a student with complex needs.Successful completion of required background checks.
