The Staten Island Workforce1 Career Center is partnering with RCM Health Care Services to find qualified candidates for Paraprofessionals in Staten Island, New York. Position Overview:

The Paraprofessional provides support to students by assisting with classroom activities and helping create a positive learning environment. This role assists and supports a child at home or in the classroom, serves as a positive role model, and helps students with classwork and homework. The Paraprofessional also works closely with teachers to support instruction, reinforce positive behavior, and promote student success.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and support a child at home or in the classroom.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Assist students with classwork and homework.
  • Support teachers in delivering instructional lessons and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed.
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to teaching staff.
  • Support students with special needs in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow teacher instructions and support classroom activities.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a school environment.
  • Physically able to assist students and move throughout the classroom as needed.
Pay Range: USD $19.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.
