    Position:

    Paraprofessional

    Job

    Summary:

    The

    Medical

    Assistant/Aide

    will

    primarily

    assist

    staff

    and

    students

    with

    medical

    and

    physical

    needs

    in

    the

    building.

    The

    MA/Aide

    will

    work

    closely

    with

    building

    staff

    to

    ensure

    the

    students

    have

    an

    optimal

    learning

    environment

    in

    all

    areas.

    This

    may

    include,

    but

    is

    not

    limited

    to:

    monitoring

    ill

    students

    and

    staff,

    providing

    direct

    medical

    care

    to

    students

    and

    staff,

    administering

    medications,

    monitoring

    vital

    signs,

    keeping

    charts

    and

    records

    up-to-date,

    assisting

    in

    the

    school

    and

    clinic

    areas

    as

    needed,

    stocking

    medical

    areas,

    communicating

    frequently

    via

    phone

    and

    computer.

    The

    MA/Aide

    will

    keep

    in

    good

    communication

    and

    collaborate

    with

    the

    district

    nurse,

    specialty

    service

    providers,

    and

    the

    principal

    on

    a

    regular

    basis.

    15.

    16.

    Willingness

    to

    learn

    new

    skills

    and

    complete

    training

    as

    needed.

    17.

    High

    School

    Diploma

    needed

    or

    equivalent.

    18.

    Certification

    as

    a

    nurse

    aide,

    medical

    assistant,

    or

    emergency

    medical

    technician

    preferred.

    Desired

    Qualifications:

    1.

    Previous

    experience

    providing

    care

    in

    a

    clinic

    or

    school

    setting.

    2.

    Experience

    with

    electronic

    medical

    records

    and

    data

    entry

    including

    MCIR.

    Physical

    Requirements:

    While

    performing

    the

    duties

    of

    this

    job,

    the

    employee

    may

    be

    required

    to:

    1.

    Sit,

    stand,

    walk,

    run,

    stoop

    and

    kneel

    or

    work

    on

    the

    floor

    on

    a

    continuous

    basis.

    frequent

    work

    the

    telephone

    and/or

    computer,

    often

    at

    the

    same

    time.

    4.

    Ability

    to

    wear

    physical

    tasks.
