Paraprofessional, Kindergarten (2026-2027)

• Possess a basic understanding of the curriculum in the classroom(s} to which they are assigned.

• Teach students individually and in small groups reinforcing skills based upon instructional guidelines.
• Provide feedback to the teacher on the student''s progress.
• Use appropriate teaching aids.
• Implement teacher''s lesson plans in small groups.
• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge.
• Know appropriate policies and procedures.
• Possess the ability to handle all matters in a professional and confidential manner.
• Assist in managing student behavior and maintaining classroom order to ensure the safety of students, as well as adherence to appropriate conduct and disciplinary controls.
• Assists teachers in the supervision of learning activities, circulating within the classroom and providing assistance and learning support to students.
• Provide instruction to students as prescribed by the supervising teacher and reinforce skills introduced by the teacher.
• Assist teachers in checking and objectively evaluating students'' work.
• Assists in the preparation of lesson plans and teachers'' pre-planning sessions; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities and learning tools.
• Assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
• Perform support tasks such as copying materials, laminating items, typing correspondence, and filing paperwork and documentation.
• Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, classroom decorations, displays of student activities, and other classroom objectives.
• May be assigned monitoring duties.
• Other tasks as necessary.
