JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking dedicated and professional Paramedics to join our EMS team. Paramedics provide appropriate, efficient, and timely pre-hospital advanced, intermediate, and basic life support care and transportation to sick and injured patients.
Our paramedics are expected to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care while maintaining professionalism, safety, and operational readiness at all times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform thorough patient assessments and identify signs and symptoms of illness or injury.
Provide BLS, intermediate, and ALS care within the scope of licensure and approved protocols.
Safely and efficiently treat and transport patients to appropriate medical facilities.
Provide safe patient handling and transfers.
Communicate patient condition, treatment, and pertinent information to receiving medical personnel.
Complete accurate and timely EMS documentation and patient care reports.
Maintain ambulance equipment, supplies, medications, and inventory.
Inspect and test equipment to ensure everything is clean, functional, and ready for service.
Report equipment or vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain the ambulance and station in a clean, organized, and operational condition.
Safely operate the ambulance in emergency and non-emergency situations.
Assist with extrication and scene safety when necessary.
Maintain effective communication with dispatch, other emergency services, hospitals, and medical personnel.
Attend required meetings, training, and continuing education.
Assist with ordering and restocking supplies.
Complete required reports, logs, and operational documentation.
Serve as a Field Training Officer when approved and assigned.
Precept EMT and Paramedic students when qualified and assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED.
Current National and Louisiana Paramedic certification/licensure.
Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Valid Louisiana chauffer
driver’s license or equivalent.
Ability to safely operate an ambulance in normal and adverse conditions.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, coworkers, healthcare providers, and the public.
Knowledge of EMS protocols, operational procedures, and safety practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional certifications are preferred but not required, including:
PALS
NALS
PHTLS
PEEP
Instructor certifications
Field Training Officer experience
