How you'll make an impact in this role

• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and interfacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
• Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
• Contacts receiving medical personnel, reports observations and follows directives.
• Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
• Will transport patients in any or all of the following modes of transportation: ground ambulance, rotor wing, fixed wing, jet.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program credentialed from the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.

• One or more of the following:

• Instructor Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following:

• Instructor Advanced Life Support (ALS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following:

• Instructor Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Preferred Credential(s):

• Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification.

• Paramedic specializing in Flight.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate''s degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
