We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join the Legal Department at Martin Marietta’s corporate office in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and provide broad support to the Legal Department, with a focus on commercial and real estate contract review, subpoena responses, receipt of service of process, document searches, legal systems administration, contract administration and document management. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with attorneys and business partners across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Review, revise, process and track commercial agreements and related documentation under attorney supervision.
• Support the review, processing and administration of real estate agreements and related documents.
• Coordinate responses to subpoenas and other requests for information, including locating, collecting, organizing and maintaining responsive records.
• Conduct legal, corporate and public-record searches and summarize relevant information for attorneys.
• Assist attorneys with contract administration, matter tracking, document management and other Legal Department projects.
• Maintain accurate and well-organized electronic and physical files in accordance with applicable document-retention practices.
• Communicate professionally with internal business partners and external parties, follow up on open items and help drive matters to timely completion.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
• Develop, maintain and improve standard work, templates, procedures and other tools to promote consistent, efficient and scalable Legal Department processes.
• Support other strategic initiatives and projects as assigned.
• Perform all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from an accredited program required.
• Prior experience supporting an in-house corporate legal department or law firm preferred.
• Experience reviewing commercial or real estate agreements preferred.
• Experience responding to subpoenas, conducting document searches or supporting discovery preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and competing priorities.
• Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn and administer legal technology systems and databases.
