Gallagher & Cavanaugh, LLP is a highly regarded, AV® Peer Review Rated, growing law firm located in Lowell, Massachusetts. We provide exceptional legal representation to businesses and individuals as national defense counsel, general counsel, and personal counsel in complex civil litigation and business matters. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Temporary Paralegal to join our Real Estate and Transactions team through February 2027, providing coverage during a temporary leave. This is a temporary position expected to continue through February 2027.

Role Description The Paralegal will provide direct support to two attorneys in a on-site role based in Lowell, MA.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

•        Preparing and organizing documents for residential and commercial real estate transactions
• \n
•        Working with numbers and performing basic calculations
• \n
•        Assisting with business formations and related corporate filings
• \n
•        Drafting and assembling estate-planning documents and probate filings
• \n
•        Communicating professionally with clients, attorneys, lenders, and other parties
• \n
•        Maintaining files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating signatures and document delivery
• \n
•        Performing administrative and organizational tasks necessary to move matters forward
• \n
•        Proofreading documents for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• \n
•      Learning law-office procedures and developing practical experience across several legal practice areas

Qualifications

The position requires someone who can follow established procedures, manage multiple assignments, and work carefully and independently while seeking guidance when needed. 

No prior legal experience is required, and we are comfortable training the right candidate—i.e., someone who takes pride in doing good work, welcomes feedback, and approaches both substantive assignments and routine tasks with professionalism and care. A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.

The position is flexible and is available on a part-time or full-time basis.
