Paralegal/Legal Assistant - Washington, DC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ months
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Compile, prepare, and summarize relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of legal documents.
- Summarize depositions and other transcripts.
- Maintain case files and perform simple legal research.
- Index, track, and control document discovery.
- Prepare exhibit cross-references and assist attorneys in the courtroom.
- Review documents for relevance and privilege.
- Compile documents for FOIA, production requests, and Congressional inquiries.
Required Skills:
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful.
- Automated litigation support experience valued.
- Basic legal knowledge and experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Basic familiarity with Client tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.
Education:
- Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least one year of study completed.
